A COASTAL MAGAZINE BY CHIC BEACH VACATIONSAUTUMN 2026 · SEPTEMBER–NOVEMBER ↗

THE QUARTERLY · AUTUMN 2026

Autumn 2026.
By the ocean.

September 1–November 30, 2026. Seasonal ideas from Chic Beach Vacations.

THE COAST, AT YOUR OWN PACE

Salt air mornings.
Something good tonight.

A coffee within walking distance of the sand. An afternoon following the boats. A small music venue where the evening has its own personality. This autumn, leave room for the pleasures that make a beach town feel like a place you know.

Explore Silver Strand, Hollywood Beach and Channel Islands Harbor, then venture to neighboring Port Hueneme or inland to The Collection. Pick the outing that fits your mood; there is no need to fit the whole coast into one day.

01 · SILVER STRAND

Come for a walk.
Stay for the neighborhood.

Begin with the beach rather than a timetable. Walk as far as feels good, watch the surfers from shore and take the slow way back past the neighborhood’s murals. The appeal is in the small scale: sand, houses, local places to eat and another reason to be outside.

Choose The Strandwich for a neighborhood food stop, or look at The Strand Bar & Grill when the afternoon calls for a table and a longer pause. Check the current menus and hours before setting out.

Our kind of afternoon: a beach walk, a casual bite and enough time to be back by the water before the light changes.

02 · HOLLYWOOD BEACH & THE HARBOR

A breakfast table.
A whole day ahead.

Make Hollywood Beach Cafe your starting point for a neighborhood morning, or head to Honey Cup’s Channel Islands location for coffee. Follow that with time on the sand or a look at the boats; a good breakfast does not need a complicated sequel.

For Sunday, check the Channel Islands Harbor Farmers’ Market and bring something back for a meal at your stay. Add the Channel Islands Maritime Museum if art, ships and local maritime stories sound like your kind of afternoon.

Later, Waterside is an option for dinner by the harbor. Keep the meal as the evening’s main event, or choose a specific music performance from the venue calendars below.

03 · NEIGHBORING PORT HUENEME

Another stretch of shore.
A change of scenery.

Give Port Hueneme its own outing. Hueneme Beach Park has picnic areas, volleyball courts, restrooms and the Flight 261 Memorial. Bring a simple lunch and let an open stretch of coast be the afternoon’s destination.

The Lighthouse Promenade follows the waterfront toward the harbor entrance. Plan around the current access notice: the promenade closes November 15, 2026 through March 31, 2027 for beach dredging. For later November stays, choose open park areas and follow the city’s posted directions. The lighthouse itself is listed as closed; this is an outdoor coastal outing.

04 · THE COLLECTION AT RIVERPARK

Take the evening
inland.

When everyone wants a different kind of meal, start with The Annex Food Hall and browse the choices together. Then make one activity the anchor: a film at Century RiverPark 16 & XD, bowling at Lucky Strike, a puzzle at Red Door Escape Room or an active challenge at Activate.

For younger guests, look at Jump ’n Jammin or Slime Kitchen. Pick for the ages and energy of your group, and check the individual operator’s reservations and session details.

A quieter seasonal stop: The Collection’s Día de los Muertos community altar, created with the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, remains on display through November 2, 2026 at 600 Town Center Drive. Make time for the art and remembrance.

05 · LOCAL MUSIC & AN EVENING WITH CHARACTER

A small stage.
A reason to stay out.

Strey Cellars: trade the waterfront for an Oxnard winery and barrel-room music venue. Its calendar mixes live bands, tasting-room afternoons and creative workshops. This is a good place to look for a locally rooted evening with wine and a performance; check the actual artist and event before choosing your night.

Mrs. Olson’s: a harbor-side option for live music, with daytime performances as well as its broader event calendar. Teresa Russell is listed for November 1, 2026 at 12:30 p.m.—a Sunday plan that leaves your evening open.

Prefer conversation to a show? Make dinner at Waterside the plan, or stay close to Silver Strand with a neighborhood meal. For music nights, choose the artist first, then arrange dinner and a ride around the performance.

NOVEMBER · LEAVE ROOM FOR THE SIMPLE THINGS

A long weekend,
without the rush.

The first morning: breakfast in Hollywood Beach, a shoreline walk and a harbor lunch. If the visit includes Sunday, start with the farmers’ market.

The next day: explore Port Hueneme where access allows, or choose the maritime museum and a waterfront afternoon. Make the evening a Strey performance, dinner out or a film at The Collection.

Thanksgiving, November 26: decide on the meal early. Confirm holiday service directly with your chosen restaurant, or plan groceries and cooking at your home. Leave the rest of the day for the people you came with and a little time beside the ocean.

Autumn ends November 30. December’s Christmas boat parades belong to our separate winter edition.
